Healthy Heinz

Another one? I recently came across this Heinz advertisement that promotes healthy eating just like the other I blogged about. This picture is a little more creative than the other but it still displays the freshness of the ingredients in the product. I think Heinz is trying to change the public perspective on ketchup because I know when I think of Ketchup, I think of fattening foods like fries or burgers. Maybe our perception is wrong, maybe ketchup isn't as bad as people think it is. I think Heinz achieved what they were trying to accomplish with this ad which was to change our perception of ketchup.

Tweeting Rules

Are there places that you find yourself tweeting that you shouldn't be? I never understood the whole Twitter obsession but apparently people don't know their limits. I think this is great that there is an article that actually gives you rules to know when you are going to far with technology. When can it ever be that important that you need to tweet in the emergency room or bathroom? This article reveals the seven places that are absolutely unacceptable to tweet. Take notes and remember if you tweet excessively, you should probably calm it down.

Treating Women like a piece of Meat

This advertisement made me stop and think because in our society today, chivalry is hard to find. I feel that our generation has a skewed vision of romance and relationships. In fact, technology has definitely played a role in this since it is such a large portion of our lives. How we interact with one another revolves around social media and technology and I have noticed a drastic change in our communication and relationships. When is it acceptable to ask a girl on a date via text or use Facebook statuses as a way to bash people? Has technology gone too far and are there any limits? I have seen this happen many times and I think it's absolutely disturbing. This advertisement is great and I feel that it should be seen because women are not a piece of meat. Women deserve romance and a man to take the initiative to pursue instead of expecting.

Verbal Abuse

This advertisement for verbal abuse caught my attention because it took a huge risk by being controversial. Not only is the issue controversial, once you provide a visual, it hits you like a brick. Verbal abuse is an issue that should be taken just as seriously as other types of violence. I thought it was very clever and eye opening. I have failed to see any advertisements like it in the recent years and I was shocked.

Starbucks Ignores National Coffee Day?

Starbucks failed to celebrate the national holiday that essentially represents what they stand for as a company. Many chains such as Caribou Coffee celebrated National Coffee Day in some way shape or form but not Starbucks which stirred up some controversy with their customers. Although Starbucks has celebrated other holidays in the past such as Earth day, why did they exclude this holiday? Was this a mistake? These days Starbuck's advertisement tactics have been out of the box and definitely not what we're used to. One example may be their change in logo. I know advertisement is about being fresh and new but when something so significant marks your company, why change it? I have no doubt in my mind Starbucks will continue to be the most profound coffee shop worldwide because although they may have had some troubles the past year, their use of social media is extremely advanced. Their use of social media includes the use of twitter to respond to inquiries, spread the word about its products, company news, specials and offers. Their own YouTube channel is another tactic used where they post commercials and informational videos on the orgins of different coffee blends as well as clips about some of its corporate social responsibility and charity initiatives. Today, a new and fresh idea has been established- MyStarbucksIdea.com. The company has not only benefited from the several thousands of ideas contributed by its customers, but has also done a good job publicizing the fact that its customers are so engaged with the company. For example, on MyStarbucksIdea.com, you can see how many ideas were contributed by its customers – over 100,000, and hundreds of examples of ideas implemented by Starbucks.

20 New Advertising Ideas

I felt this website was appropriate since Monday's class inolved the more creative side of the field of Advertisement. Since Advertisement is very competitive and constantly flourishing with new, fresh and creative ideas, it's important to stop and look at all the ways companies have incoorporated it in our daily lives. When we think advertisement doesn't really directly involve us, believe it or not, we are subjected to it daily. These ads caught my eye and I'm sure they will make you stop in your tracks too. Check it out!

SOCIAL MEDIA & ADVERTISEMENT

I came across this article in the New York Times and it caught my attention because it was very useful to me. Technology is advancing everyday and we need to jump on the bandwagon or we will be left out. This article shows the significance of social media in fields such as Advertisement agencies and marketers saw the interent as a tool to promote their products online because not only were they easily accessible, technology is where most people get their information nowadays. From Twitter to Facebook, social networks have advanced to a main source of news for the public. In order to be seen brands are taking full advantage. “Brands are building a great presence on social networks and are looking at ways of making it more accessible,” said Giles Goodwin, president for product and technology at Flite. Hopefully this information is as helfpul for you, as it was for me.

Breaking News: Entourage.. The Movie?

It's a sad day for one of the best shows on HBO. The last season of Entourage has come to a close and I'm absolutely heartbroken. Although the rollercoaster ride of seasons has come to wraps, news is out that this may not be the last we see of our beloved cast. Mark Wahlberg, the oscar nominated actor and movie producer, has revealed he is in the process of making an Entourage movie that will be coming soon. I'm sure fans are more than pleased to hear this, and I know I am extatic considering it is my favorite show of all time. This show is close to many viewer's hearts because it comprises a very different dynamic than other televsion shows aired today. This show is simultaneously easy to watch and captivating; in fact, throughout the years of watching, I have developed a sense of attachment to the cast members. It is absolutely crazy how television has developed throughout the years, and I find that it's easy to take a break from the drama filled and cheesy shows by watching this one. Now that it has ended, I will either need to find a new one somewhat comparable or continue to watch the seasons on repeat. Maybe the show was a way to advertise a big break for Mark Wahlberg's career.

"Literally.. I die" -- The Rachel Zoe Project

The Rachel Zoe Project, a show on Bravo, is one of my sick obsessions along with the abundance of entertaining reality dramas aired. It is this specific show that appeals to me most because it incorporates Zoe's catchy lingo, hectic lifestyle, and of course her gift of style. This show displays the everyday life of Rachel Zoe and does something quite extraordinary. It positions high end designers in the market and shows celebrities, both clients and friends, wearing them. From Vera Wang to Louis Vuitton, Rachel Zoe uses each designer as a way to incorporate a absolutely major look. She attends fashion shows, styles celebrities for special occassions, and recently created her very own line of clothing and accessories. Season 4 has just aired and definately created a buzz. News broke out that Zoe is not only pregnant but she has designed a line of her own with essential pieces for every woman. Her usage of advertising not only brought attention to herself but more importanty the new designer's line. Her goals to gain support and possibly loyalty as customers from her fans may have worked. Although this line is in competition with many of the higher status designers, I have no doubts that people will be lining up to buy her products. As of now, her line is being sold in department stores such as Neiman Marcus and it's rapidly expanding to many others.

How Far is Too Far? Technology Overload

Mashable Technology reveals an interesting article by Soren Gordhamer about the relationship between technology and our youth. Since technology only gets advanced with time, children are starting earlier and earlier each day. I look around and kids as young as eight years old are listening to their IPod or texting on their IPhones. I remember when Gameboys were the "It" thing. How many numbers can these kids possibly have? What are they listening to? How do they even have the responsibility to take care of these gadgets? I ask myself these questions everyday and it absolutely boggles my mind. Maybe it comes to a shock since growing up I wasn't able to have a phone until I was in high school and this was considered a stretch since my older sisters couldn't get one until they drove. My brother, now fifteen years old, has gone through countless smart phones, Ipods and every gaming device possible. This validates technology's impact on our youth today. This article gives parents tips in order to keep technology from taking over-technology has no boundaries, know when to cut it off, know the difference between preference and addiction, focus on technology that truly connects us to our kids, and model the balance. New parents, I strongly advise you to read this and keep technology from taking over your kid's lives.

Samsung's Tweeting Refrigerator 2012

Samsung is introducing a new, sleek, four door app refrigerator in 2012. It comes in two versions: two verticle doors or two verticle doors both up top and down below. One of the most impressive feature includes an 8-inch touch screen. It also includes WiFi internet, weatherbug, memos, photos, Google calendar, Pandora, and most importantly a tweeting feature. This allows those to leave messages for their family members to make new purchases when running low on a specific food or to leave a little note. This new product also has the ability to adjust the temperature of the refrigerator from the touch screen and acccess any food website for new and exciting recipes. This is considered the "It" new smart device to own. This is just a little taste of what is to come in the future and validates how rapid our technology is advancing!

Healhty Heinz

This advertisement for Heinz attracted me because

I tend to eat very clean and I'm a big supporter of being active, healthy, and staying fit; I try to eliminate as many processed foods from my diet. The food industry is changing rapidly and the gluten free, organic, and hormone- free foods are quickly becoming very popular. Heinz is a large company and they are certainly not okay with being left behind in the change of things. This advertisement shows how important it is to be diverse and compromising to every demographic. Heinz is keeping up with the grand scheme of things because healthy is "in" now. I personally don't think there is a more popular or better tasting ketchup in the market, but now it just got better. It's possible that those who are like me, will reevaluate their decision to keep ketchup out of their diets once they see Heinz's new product on shelves. Who knows maybe I'll buy me a bottle.

Getting Back into the Groove of Things

Well, another year at Marquette University has started and the students are roaming the campus. This bus definately made a name for itself while stopping in the heart of campus. As I was walking out of my 10 a.m. ADPR1800 class, I saw the most unusual looking bus with the saying, "We Love the Bus" on it. The eye- popping red heart quickly caught my attention and made me think twice about the bus. In some ways it was kind of like a driving decoration. I thought it was interesting and memorable.

So College

This seemed appropriate considering the first week of college is coming to a close and I already have a boat load of assignments to complete. I'm still stuck in the summer memories and have to snap back into reality. My brain is mush from no homework assignments or papers to write for three months. So this poses a larger question, can someone be successful in all three fields and if so who? College is supposed to be the time of our lives, a time to do all that we can't once we step in the real world but did anyone ever think that college is almost as overwhelming than the "real world." This advertisement says it all. You get to chose two so what which would you chose?

What Brand Am I? The Angelika Brand

BIG. SEXY. HAIR

While some may think big hair is obnoxious and loud, Big.Sexy.Hair hair products think otherwise. Big Sexy Hair products have been part of my go to cosmetic collection for years now. In particular, my favorite is Big Sexy Spray & Play Hairspray Hard. For 17$ consider yourself lucky gal because this is magic in a bottle. Although the price is a little steep, it’s worth it. I’ve recommended this product to everyone and it’s always nice to see my women sporting it. Big Sexy hairspray is always standing tall with credibility and of course never fails to catch a consumer’s eye with it’s fiery red appearance. Since I have curly hair that goes through a strenuous beauty routine of frying and heating damage, this product always makes my hair look healthy and luscious. Not to mention I have good genes. This product focuses on every type of hair from curly, straight, thick or thin. Ever since I can remember getting my hands on my first Target credit card, the various cosmetics have been piling up in my bathroom drawers. I have searched high and low for my go to hairspray. Whether it’s mascara or shampoo, I have done my share of experimenting. There’s no doubt that my investigation and spending habit continues in other departments but for right now, you guessed it, Big Sexy products undoubtedly made the cut. This specific hair product is bold, versatile, volumous, gravitating, and loud. The bright red label makes you think twice but once you use it it’s hard not to get hooked. Soon it becomes a new addiction- addiction for good hair that is. You either love it or hate it, but chances are you’ll love it. Similar to my personality there's no in between. It has stuck by me through my wildest days, craziest nights, and my most important dates. You can say my friendship and loyalty are comparable. I’m loyal to my friends and cherish them. Big Sexy Hair hairspray is dependable just like me; it sticks by you through thick and thin. Although I may be a little picky in my selection as I am with the products, I somehow can get along with everyone. This particular product can only hang with a select few because many can’t handle boldness. Believe it or not, it somehow makes its way to an unexpected user one way or another. While Big Sexy Hairspray may not work with women who lean toward the conservative side, they would surely make use of another product from this line. This makes the company very agreeable and versatile. Similarly, I am open to new things and can relate to a wide spectrum of people. Consequently, whether you want your hair to be volumized all-night, slick and frizz-free, or wild and bold this product line is the one for you. Red says caution so only attempt to use this if you want to have the best hair in the room- not everyone can handle that attention and honor.

This video shows the versatility of the Big Sexy Hair product line. This famous hair stylist shows you tips to enhance your look.
