Healthy Heinz

Another one? I recently came across this Heinz advertisement that promotes healthy eating just like the other I blogged about. This picture is a little more creative than the other but it still displays the freshness of the ingredients in the product. I think Heinz is trying to change the public perspective on ketchup because I know when I think of Ketchup, I think of fattening foods like fries or burgers. Maybe our perception is wrong, maybe ketchup isn't as bad as people think it is. I think Heinz achieved what they were trying to accomplish with this ad which was to change our perception of ketchup.

Tweeting Rules

Are there places that you find yourself tweeting that you shouldn't be? I never understood the whole Twitter obsession but apparently people don't know their limits. I think this is great that there is an article that actually gives you rules to know when you are going to far with technology. When can it ever be that important that you need to tweet in the emergency room or bathroom? This article reveals the seven places that are absolutely unacceptable to tweet. Take notes and remember if you tweet excessively, you should probably calm it down.

Treating Women like a piece of Meat

This advertisement made me stop and think because in our society today, chivalry is hard to find. I feel that our generation has a skewed vision of romance and relationships. In fact, technology has definitely played a role in this since it is such a large portion of our lives. How we interact with one another revolves around social media and technology and I have noticed a drastic change in our communication and relationships. When is it acceptable to ask a girl on a date via text or use Facebook statuses as a way to bash people? Has technology gone too far and are there any limits? I have seen this happen many times and I think it's absolutely disturbing. This advertisement is great and I feel that it should be seen because women are not a piece of meat. Women deserve romance and a man to take the initiative to pursue instead of expecting.

Verbal Abuse

This advertisement for verbal abuse caught my attention because it took a huge risk by being controversial. Not only is the issue controversial, once you provide a visual, it hits you like a brick. Verbal abuse is an issue that should be taken just as seriously as other types of violence. I thought it was very clever and eye opening. I have failed to see any advertisements like it in the recent years and I was shocked.

Starbucks Ignores National Coffee Day?

Starbucks failed to celebrate the national holiday that essentially represents what they stand for as a company. Many chains such as Caribou Coffee celebrated National Coffee Day in some way shape or form but not Starbucks which stirred up some controversy with their customers. Although Starbucks has celebrated other holidays in the past such as Earth day, why did they exclude this holiday? Was this a mistake? These days Starbuck's advertisement tactics have been out of the box and definitely not what we're used to. One example may be their change in logo. I know advertisement is about being fresh and new but when something so significant marks your company, why change it? I have no doubt in my mind Starbucks will continue to be the most profound coffee shop worldwide because although they may have had some troubles the past year, their use of social media is extremely advanced. Their use of social media includes the use of twitter to respond to inquiries, spread the word about its products, company news, specials and offers. Their own YouTube channel is another tactic used where they post commercials and informational videos on the orgins of different coffee blends as well as clips about some of its corporate social responsibility and charity initiatives. Today, a new and fresh idea has been established- MyStarbucksIdea.com. The company has not only benefited from the several thousands of ideas contributed by its customers, but has also done a good job publicizing the fact that its customers are so engaged with the company. For example, on MyStarbucksIdea.com, you can see how many ideas were contributed by its customers – over 100,000, and hundreds of examples of ideas implemented by Starbucks.

20 New Advertising Ideas

I felt this website was appropriate since Monday's class inolved the more creative side of the field of Advertisement. Since Advertisement is very competitive and constantly flourishing with new, fresh and creative ideas, it's important to stop and look at all the ways companies have incoorporated it in our daily lives. When we think advertisement doesn't really directly involve us, believe it or not, we are subjected to it daily. These ads caught my eye and I'm sure they will make you stop in your tracks too. SOCIAL MEDIA & ADVERTISEMENT

I came across this article in the New York Times and it caught my attention because it was very useful to me. Technology is advancing everyday and we need to jump on the bandwagon or we will be left out. This article shows the significance of social media in fields such as Advertisement agencies and marketers saw the interent as a tool to promote their products online because not only were they easily accessible, technology is where most people get their information nowadays. From Twitter to Facebook, social networks have advanced to a main source of news for the public. In order to be seen brands are taking full advantage. “Brands are building a great presence on social networks and are looking at ways of making it more accessible,” said Giles Goodwin, president for product and technology at Flite. Hopefully this information is as helfpul for you, as it was for me.
